1. Introduction and Purpose

At Relatia – Relationship Capital Academy, we believe that meaningful relationships are built on trust, integrity, respect, authenticity, reciprocity and personal responsibility.

These principles guide not only what we teach but also how learners are expected to conduct themselves throughout their learning journey.

This Learner Code of Conduct and Academic Integrity Policy establishes the standards of behaviour, honesty, professionalism and responsible participation expected of everyone using the Academy.

Our goal is to create a safe, respectful and credible learning environment where learners can develop knowledge, demonstrate genuine competence and build relationships that create meaningful opportunities.

This policy applies to all registered learners participating in Relatia's free and paid programmes, assessments, assignments, projects, discussions and other Academy activities.

2. Respectful and Professional Conduct

All learners are expected to treat fellow learners, instructors, administrators, mentors and other members of the Academy community with dignity and respect.

Learners must not engage in:

Differences of opinion are welcome when expressed constructively and respectfully.

Relatia encourages professional dialogue, responsible disagreement and mutual learning.

3. Account Responsibility and Platform Security

Learners are responsible for protecting their account credentials and using their accounts appropriately.

Learners must:

Where account security is at immediate risk, Relatia may temporarily restrict affected access while investigating the concern.

Such restrictions must be proportionate, documented and reviewed appropriately.

4. Academic Honesty and Original Work

Relatia places a high value on genuine learning and demonstrated competence.

Learners are expected to submit work that reflects their own understanding, reasoning, experience and contribution.

Academic misconduct may include:

Learners must acknowledge relevant sources and follow the collaboration requirements stated in each assignment.

5. Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Relatia recognises that artificial intelligence can support learning, research, creativity and professional development.

The Academy encourages responsible use of digital tools while protecting the integrity of assessments.

Unless a specific assessment states otherwise, learners may use AI tools for general learning support, such as understanding concepts, exploring ideas, improving writing clarity or organising research.

However, learners must not use AI or other assistance to misrepresent another person's or system's work as their own demonstrated competence.

Where AI-generated material or substantial assistance contributes to an assessed submission, learners should disclose that assistance when required by the assignment instructions.

Learners remain responsible for:

Where an assessment expressly prohibits or limits external assistance, learners must follow those instructions.

Relatia does not impose a universal prohibition on AI-assisted learning. Assessment-specific restrictions must be clearly communicated before submission.

6. Collaboration and Group Learning

Relatia encourages peer learning, professional networking and constructive collaboration.

Learners may discuss concepts, exchange ideas and support one another where permitted.

However, collaboration must not undermine individual assessment requirements.

For assignments designated as individual work, each learner must independently demonstrate the required competencies.

Where group work is authorised, learners should acknowledge contributions appropriately and comply with the published assignment instructions.

7. Intellectual Property and Academy Content

Relatia's learning materials, course designs, assessments, videos, documents, graphics and other protected educational resources may be subject to intellectual property rights.

Learners receive access for authorised personal or organisational learning purposes, according to their enrolment terms.

Without appropriate permission, learners must not:

Learners retain applicable rights in their original work, subject to any lawful and expressly agreed licence or programme terms.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

Learners must respect the privacy and confidentiality of other individuals and organisations.

Assignments involving professional relationships, stakeholder mapping, workplace experiences or personal reflections should use anonymised or fictional examples wherever practical.

Learners must not submit confidential employer records, private third-party information or protected organisational materials without appropriate authorisation and a lawful basis.

Passwords, bank security credentials, payment-card information and other sensitive security details must never be included in learning submissions.

Learners should follow Relatia's Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.

9. Reporting Suspected Misconduct

Learners, instructors and administrators may report suspected violations of this policy.

Reports should be submitted to:

afrydef@gmail.com

Where possible, reports should include:

Reports should be made in good faith.

Relatia will seek to handle reports fairly, responsibly and with appropriate confidentiality.

Knowingly false or malicious allegations may themselves constitute misconduct.

10. Investigation and Fair Review

Where a suspected violation is reported, Relatia will follow a proportionate review process.

The process may include:

  1. Recording the complaint or concern.
  2. Conducting an initial assessment of available evidence.
  3. Determining whether immediate protective action is necessary.
  4. Notifying the affected learner of the allegation where appropriate.
  5. Providing a reasonable opportunity for the learner to respond.
  6. Reviewing relevant records and explanations.
  7. Documenting findings and the reasons for any decision.
  8. Communicating the outcome and available appeal process.

Investigations will be handled by an authorised Academy administrator or designated reviewer.

Where practicable, a person directly involved in the allegation should not be the sole decision-maker.

Relatia will not presume misconduct solely because a submission resembles other material or has characteristics associated with AI-generated content.

The Academy does not claim to operate automated plagiarism detection, identity proctoring or a dedicated investigation service unless such systems are implemented and verified.

11. Corrective and Disciplinary Measures

Where misconduct is established, Relatia may take proportionate action based on the seriousness of the violation, available evidence, previous relevant conduct and any mitigating circumstances.

Possible measures include:

Decisions must be documented and communicated appropriately.

Any changes to issued certificates require authorised administrator action, a recorded reason and preservation of relevant certificate history.

Refund eligibility following access restrictions will be assessed under the applicable Refund and Cancellation Policy and Nigerian consumer protection law.

12. Appeals and Reconsideration

Learners may appeal a disciplinary decision where they believe it was incorrect, disproportionate or procedurally unfair.

Appeals should be submitted to afrydef@gmail.com.

To remain consistent with Relatia's Learning, Assessment and Certification Policy, the following approved standards apply:

Where reasonably possible, appeals should be considered by someone other than the original decision-maker.

The Academy may uphold, modify or overturn a decision based on the evidence and applicable policy.

13. Protection Against Retaliation

Relatia does not permit retaliation against learners who raise genuine concerns, report suspected misconduct or participate appropriately in an investigation.

All participants are expected to cooperate honestly and respectfully with legitimate review processes.

14. Policy Updates

Relatia may update this policy to reflect changes in learning practices, technology, academic integrity standards or applicable legal requirements.

Approved revisions will be published with an effective date.

Changes will not be applied retrospectively in a manner that unlawfully disadvantages learners.
