1. Introduction and Scope
Relatia – Relationship Capital Academy is committed to providing high-quality, accessible and practical learning experiences while ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability in all transactions.
This policy explains the conditions for requesting refunds, cancelling enrolments, resolving payment disputes and managing learning access following a refund.
It applies to paid courses and school enrolments offered through Relatia.
RC101 and other free courses do not qualify for monetary refunds because no purchase payment is required.
Corporate training, institutional partnerships and customised team programmes may be subject to separately agreed refund and cancellation terms.
2. Change-of-Mind Refunds
Learners may request a voluntary change-of-mind refund within seven (7) calendar days of verified payment, provided that:
- The request is submitted within the seven-day period.
- The learner has completed no more than 20% of the purchased learning content, as reflected in the Academy's learning records.
- The learner has not received a certificate of completion for the purchased programme.
- Any restrictions concerning separately supplied or downloaded digital materials were lawfully disclosed before purchase.
Relatia may consider exceptional circumstances individually.
The seven-day period and course-completion conditions apply only to voluntary change-of-mind requests. They do not restrict remedies available under applicable Nigerian consumer protection laws.
3. Payment Errors and Service Problems
Learners may request investigation and appropriate remedies where:
- Duplicate payments have occurred.
- A verified payment has not resulted in the purchased learning access.
- An incorrect course or school has been assigned.
- A material technical fault prevents access to the purchased service.
- The purchased learning experience is materially different from its advertised description.
- A transaction is unauthorised or otherwise disputed.
Relatia will review relevant Academy and payment provider records.
Where justified, remedies may include correcting an enrolment, restoring access, providing replacement access or issuing a full or partial refund.
Statutory remedies remain available regardless of the seven-day change-of-mind period.
4. How to Request a Refund
Learners should email afrydef@gmail.com with the subject line:
Refund Request – Relatia Academy
The request should include:
- Full name and registered account email.
- Order or transaction reference.
- Course or school purchased.
- Payment date.
- Reason for requesting a refund.
- Relevant supporting evidence, where available.
Learners must not submit card PINs, passwords, complete card details or banking security codes.
Refund Review Timeline
Relatia will aim to:
- Acknowledge refund requests within two (2) business days.
- Communicate an initial review decision or status update within seven (7) business days.
- Explain any additional verification or investigation required.
- Communicate the final outcome and reasons for the decision.
Business days exclude weekends and Nigerian public holidays.
Approved refunds will ordinarily be initiated through the original payment method, where supported.
The time required for funds to reach the learner depends on the payment provider and financial institution. Relatia cannot guarantee settlement dates outside its control.
5. Learning Access After Refunds
Once a full refund has been verified and processed, Relatia may remove the access entitlement associated with that purchase.
For Selfany transactions, administrators will verify refund or reversal records before updating access.
Historical purchases processed through Selar or Paystack will continue to follow their applicable verification and reconciliation procedures.
For partial refunds, administrators will determine whether any learning entitlement should remain active. Access associated with the affected purchase may be temporarily suspended pending review.
Unrelated valid enrolments and free learning access will remain unaffected.
Previously completed learning activities, assessment results and learning records will not be silently deleted or altered.
Any decision to revoke an issued certificate must be separately reviewed, justified and documented.
A payment screenshot alone does not establish that a refund has been processed.
6. Partial Refunds and Deductions
Partial refunds may be considered where appropriate, including circumstances involving partial service delivery or an agreed adjustment to purchased access.
Any deductions must be lawful, reasonable and consistent with terms disclosed to the learner before purchase.
Relatia will explain the refund calculation and any resulting changes to learning access.
No learner will receive duplicate compensation for the same payment dispute. Refunds, reversals and chargebacks will be reconciled fairly.
7. Cancellation of Enrolment
Relatia currently operates on a one-time purchase model and does not offer automatically renewing subscriptions.
Learners may abandon or cancel a pending checkout without creating a paid enrolment.
Where payment has already been verified, cancellation and refund requests will be assessed under this policy.
Learners who voluntarily discontinue their studies without receiving a refund may retain access for the period specified in their purchase terms.
Requests concerning access expiry or unfulfilled orders should be directed to Relatia support.
8. Corporate and Institutional Programmes
Refunds and cancellations for corporate training, institutional enrolments, group purchases and customised programmes will follow the terms agreed upon with the contracting organisation.
Such agreements remain subject to applicable law and any non-waivable rights.
9. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Learners who are dissatisfied with a refund decision may request reconsideration by contacting afrydef@gmail.com.
Relatia will review complaints fairly and communicate the outcome.
Unresolved complaints may be pursued through appropriate payment provider dispute procedures, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) where relevant, or other legally available channels.
This policy is governed by the applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Policy Updates
Relatia may revise this policy to reflect changes in its services, operational requirements or applicable laws.
All approved revisions will be published with a clearly identified effective date.
The commercial terms applicable at the time of purchase will remain associated with the relevant order.
New commercial conditions will not be applied retrospectively without a lawful basis.
